The “Declaration of Solidarity with the great Indian march Jan Satyagraha 2012” raises the issue of hunger in the world and the situation of hundreds of millions of hand working farmers. The monopolizing of natural resources by investors deprives local people of their means of living and working. At the same time, the exportation of foodstuffs produced in rich countries into the markets of the South ruins small farmers and the local economies.

The 2012 Indian March is an historical opportunity for action in order to assert the rights of the most marginalized people and change some of the rules of the global economy: the right for people to have access to the resources needed for livelihood and their sovereign rights to food.

Several kinds of actions are suggested to those people who wish to support Ekta Parishad’s struggle : a moral support (sign the declaration of solidarity, send a letter to the Indian Prime Minister etc.) convey the information, a financial support (sponsor walkers, sponsor training camps for rural activists, etc.), a logistical support, actions of solidarity either in India or in your own country, and a political support (by informing your representatives).
